The Large Responsibility Entrusted To An Emotional Coach And Group Culture Assessments

By Pamela Adams

Emotional intelligence can best be described as a person s understanding of their own emotions and those of others in all manner of circumstances, be it in the workplace or in their personal lives. Coaching emotions merely involves knowing when and how to deal with one s own feelings and being empathetic for example to the feelings of others and improve Group Culture Assessments.

Before anything can be done, there first needs to be an acknowledgment of a problem. This not only means that the person in question is aware of the problem but it means that they will be more willing and open to trying to fix it. The problem is after all one due to a lack of self-awareness, not because there s anything cognitively wrong.

These difficulties range from an inability to control emotional outbursts in the workplace to being too reserved and closed up for a lack of a better word, with friends and family who are concerned with the emotional state of the client a coach may find themselves having to assist. Coaches who set out to find themselves highly sought after need to invest in tools that will help them be better suited in their profession.

A declaration of personal vision and values that need to be written down and sought after. This coupled with a vision statement to assist them in obtaining the goals they have set out to achieve at the end of a predetermined period of time. This not only provides a sense of urgency but it goes from a state of what will be done to a state of what is being done.

Self-awareness is a big indicator to whether or not a friend or loved one would need an intervention from an emotional intelligence coach. From a coaching perspective, what will need to be established is to what extent does this lack of self-awareness extend by gathering information by illustrating how others see those in need to make an assessment.

In the case of a friend helping a friend of a colleague, making things personal with the inclusion of a goal or vision they wish to achieve or something that is of importance to them. These values should be what is upheld no matter how hard it may be to express themselves or their emotions. An example being, to say nice things or say nothing at all.

This method is a great method to use in order to make people who struggle with their emotion understand and come to terms with how they work. This is also a great way to help them expand the manner in which they express themselves using words making it easier for them to be understood and avoid frustration.

As people, we re all different and respond to stimuli. Learning how to control your own emotions due to the actions of others or internal struggles that may affect them, makes you more approachable but with a little coaching, can transform you from just another employee to one a company just needs for that extra support.
