A big proportion of working forces is employed in factories. The labor force operates machinery and equipment day in and day out manufacturing products that are used in many other industries. Most of these companies have inside fabricators that make spare parts for the factory. Most components of machineries are of metal and wears down because of constant use. An innovator can make good use of metal prototype fabrication.

This restless creature that is always on the move, searching and finding for whichever way it could be. It is one that is not just aware of physical things around him but also the realm of spiritual and supernatural force. It seeks to understand itself and the surroundings. Through all this it has managed to change the planet it lives on.

It is wonder that such small a planet among other giants would be the only one that can support life. Planet earth may or may not be the only across the vastness of universe. But as far human beings are concerned, it can be the only one that was created by purpose or by accident to have perfect combination of elements that can harbor life.

Hiding beneath the earth surface where creatures scurry about in search of food is the realm of the underworld material. It is the place where minerals and unrefined rock reside and this is the very place that people seek out to exploit. The elements are products of events that happened more than a billion years ago, the formation of galaxies and its residents.

Metal has been used since ancient time especially those that have low heating qualities. The Bronze Age was at time when this type was commonly used for implements and tools of war. As term implies, it was an age when bronze was the king simply because it was easy to melt. It is also light and very malleable.

Recovering ores from the surface of the earth can be done by any means possible especially with modern technology. Blasting came into the fore when the dynamite was invented. Mineral arteries were identified and blasted by this explosive to reveal the main source of the ore. This type of explosive is closely by government agencies because it is very destructive.

Another way of getting iron ore from the bowels from earth is through blasting. This was only made possible with the invention of nitroglycerin explosives during the early stage of industrial age. Identified earth veins have holes drilled into it and pieces are inserted. This was then ignited from a distance by means of wires and fuses.

The scourge of modern land excavation is open pit mining. Mountains are bulldozed out of existence only to be formed into another by mechanical behemoths that gorge and swallow earth by the ton. Rock cutting and drilling heavy equipment break boulders into pieces to expose mineral sources that could be exploited.

Iron ore mining has been beneficial to man as a big contributor to modern manufacturing process. However it also has its drawbacks. Some detrimental effects of this can be seen in soil erosion, flooding, and the disappearance of natural habitats of creatures. Noise, air, and dust pollution are common ill effects of mining.
