These systems come in various sizes and shapes. The choice should be dependent on the needs that one has. Conveyor systems have the basic function of moving materials from one point to another. In most cases, they are used in the conversion of dry unrefined materials into fluids. Screw conveyors can operate at vertical, inclined, or horizontal angles.

In a typical screw conveyor, there is a tube through which loose materials move and get converted into semi-liquid form. These products are generally made using stainless steel in order to ensure that they last for long. As such, durability is another advantage that makes many people to prefer them over other kinds of conveying systems. Once installed well, one can expect it to last for several years.

Normally, there is an inlet and an outlet in most screw conveyors. The inlet is used for loading materials. Inclined conveyors are installed at a 45-degree angle from the horizontal. The angle of inclination at which the system is installed determines the efficiency of delivery of materials. When the angle of inclination from the horizontal increases, efficiency of the system reduces proportionately. Shaft-less conveyors are made with no shaft inside the tube so as to increase efficiency and eliminate possibilities of clogging.

Vertical conveyors are designed in such a way that they can be used in any kind of plant layout. They are cost effective too. Facilities that are involved in wastewater treatment are the major users of these products. Industries that deal in wood products, chemicals, minerals, and food also use these conveying systems a lot.
